About FinTech North 2017
FinTech North is a regional event initiative designed to generate collaboration and knowledge share within the Leeds City Region, and to enhance the FinTech reputation within the region and beyond.
The inaugural FinTech North took place in April 2016, and 2017 saw the return of the one-day event. We are building on the success of last year, hosting more speakers and expecting a higher number of attendees. Once again, the event took place during Leeds Digital Week, at Salem Chapel, AQL’s headquarters in Leeds; a grade two listed church home to a high-tech conference room ideal for such occasions.
FinTech North is a collaborative project, conceived and created through the partnership of White Label Crowdfunding and Whitecap Consulting, with valued input from Dr. Chris Sier, FinTech Envoy for the North, and Leeds Digital Festival.
The event has been created by companies based in the Leeds City Region who work within the sector. It is operated in a non-profit capacity, designed to give interested parties the opportunity to hear from experts in various fields relevant to the industry. Speakers and panel members discuss recent commercial innovations, pertinent academic research and regulatory support.
The organisers are committed to hosting a free event and designing an independently-shaped agenda, by inviting participants based on merit, who are qualified to engage and inspire the audience. In this way, FinTech North stands out against other commercial events, which charge delegates to see sponsors who make financial contributions and promote their latest innovations.
Last year, the event sparked conversation and collaboration; we hope that both the participants and the attendees of this year’s FinTech North found the day relevant, informative and inspiring.
