FinTech North partners Attenda Announces Evolution into Payment Orchestrator
Our partners Attenda, a leading provider of fuel and unattended payment solutions, today announced its evolution into a payment orchestration platform, marking the next phase in the company’s technology and growth strategy.
For more than 30 years, Attenda has helped businesses take payments in some of the most complex environments, particularly within the fuel and unattended retail sectors. Today, the company supports over 3,500 fuel forecourts and 15,000 unattended retail devices, processing £5.3 billion in payments annually across 240 million transactions each year.

The move to payment orchestration represents a natural progression for the business, combining Attenda’s deep sector expertise with enhanced payment capabilities designed to deliver greater flexibility, reliability and control for customers.
Payment orchestration enables businesses to centralise payment gateways, processors and acquirers into a single platform, optimising payment performance by selecting the most effective route for each transaction while simplifying integration and operations.
Through its orchestration platform, Attenda will enable customers to benefit from:
- Access to 20+ acquirers
- Dynamic currency conversion
- Offline payment support
- Integration with eight major fleet cards
- A device-agnostic Terminal Management System supporting 20+ devices
- Centralised reporting and billing
- A customer portal providing greater operational control and data insights
“Card-present orchestration is a natural progression for us,” said Steve Saunders, Chief Commercial Officer at Attenda. “For more than 30 years we’ve built deep expertise in fuel and unattended retail payments. By combining our consultative approach with enhanced orchestration capabilities, we’re strengthening our ability to support customers as they grow across the UK and Europe and enabling entry into new markets with solutions tailored to the needs of these sectors.”
The first phase of Attenda’s orchestration capability will be available to new unattended retail customers in the UK and Europe, providing access to enhanced terminal management, payment gateway services and a customer insights portal. Additional orchestration functionality and acquirer connectivity will be introduced over time as the platform continues to evolve.
Their Payment Orchestration Platform continues to enable further expansion across Europe with deployments underway in Ireland, France, Spain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Italy throughout 2026.
