Northern Powerhouse Partnership Chief Executive to speak at FinTech North



Henri Murison, Chief Executive of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, has been announced as one of the keynote speakers at each of the three forthcoming FinTech North conferences.

FinTech North, the Northern Powerhouse’s pre-eminent FinTech conference expects to attract 800 attendees across events in Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.

Henri Murison, Chief Executive of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, will join other speakers including representatives from the CBI, FCA and Innovate Finance as well as Chris Sier the Treasury’s FinTech Envoy in the opening session.

The Northern Powerhouse Independent Economic Review predicts substantial growth in employment in digital in every decade up to 2050, alongside growth in financial and professional services, contributing to the overall 850,000 extra jobs the North can create by transforming our economy by 2050.

FinTech is playing its part in driving the North’s ambition, from Atom bank in County Durham to Barclays Bank’s digital capability in Cheshire. The Northern Powerhouse is uniquely well positioned equally for support start up’s, drawing on support from those like North Invest, alongside seeing further investment in established financial services providers based on our digital capability – both sides of the Pennines.”
