LINK is the UK’s cash machine network, connecting cash machines to every major UK bank and providing communities with access to cash.

LINK is a not-for-profit company, owned by its members: the UK’s main banks and building societies, and cash machine operators. While funded by its members, LINK operates independently of them with a clearly defined public interest remit. LINK’s role is to provide UK consumers with access to cash in a safe, convenient and rapid manner.

LINK plays a nationally critical role in the future of UK payments by safeguarding access to cash for millions of people and providing the data, infrastructure and operational capability that underpins an inclusive payment system, all from its base in North Yorkshire.

LINK is also the coordination body for assessing access to cash whenever a bank branch closes or a whenever it is requested to by the community, and recommending additional services where necessary, as designated by the FCA.
