LINK and Fintech North Partner to Drive Financial Inclusion Across Yorkshire and the North

We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with LINK, the UK’s ATM and cash access network, as we join forces to champion financial inclusion in payments and FinTech.

LINK is the UK’s cash machine and access-to-cash network, operating in the public interest to ensure that communities across the country can access their money easily, safely, and free of charge. With a network of over 40,000 ATMs and a long-running financial inclusion programme that monitors and protects cash access across the UK, LINK runs a critical national infrastructure in the public interest.

Regulated by the Bank of England, the Payment Systems Regulator, and the Financial Conduct Authority, and owned by the UK’s major banks and building societies, LINK operates independently of its members – guided always by what’s right for consumers.

This year, LINK will join us as a valued partner across our programme of events and activity. We’re particularly excited to have them alongside us at our landmark 10th anniversary Leeds conference, where they will feature on a panel on future of fair and inclusive finance – a conversation that couldn’t be more timely.

We look forward to welcoming LINK at more FinTech North events throughout the year. Beyond the events themselves, we will be working together to share thought leadership and amplify LINK’s voice and work across our community.

It is a partnership that feels right at home in Yorkshire, a region with three of the UK’s top five building societies, the Bank of England, the FCA, a strong credit union network, and a longstanding commitment to community finance – and a reflection of the wider purpose-driven spirit we see right across the North.

Joe Roche, General Manager, FinTech North:

‘Purpose-driven FinTech is one of the themes we return to most at FinTech North – it comes up time and again across our events and community because it genuinely matters. In LINK we’ve found a partner that shares that conviction, and understands that Yorkshire and the wider North are uniquely placed to lead on it. We’re excited about what we can build together.’

Nick Quin, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, LINK:

‘We’ve run the UK’s cash machine network for over 40 years from North Yorkshire, and we’re pleased to be working with FinTech North to share our expertise and learn from the fantastic FinTech community in the region.’
