Womble Bond Dickinson to support DBT’s Global Entrepreneur Programme

We’re delighted to share some exciting news from our partners Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD).

Womble Bond Dickinson is collaborating with the Department for Business and Trade’s Global Entrepreneur Programme (GEP), supporting internationally mobile entrepreneurs to establish and grow innovation-led businesses from a UK headquarters.

Through the partnership, WBD will work alongside the GEP to support high-growth US companies exploring expansion, investment and market entry into the UK. WBD will provide practical legal and commercial insight to help founders navigate key steps in setting up and operating in the UK, from incorporation and contracting to people strategy and cross-border compliance.

Launched in 2005, the Global Entrepreneur Programme is a free programme that has supported more than 1,500 tech-driven founders to establish or relocate their headquarters to the UK. The programme connects entrepreneurs with the advice and networks needed to build and grow from the UK, one of Europe’s most active funding ecosystems.

WBD advises businesses on international trade, cross-border investment and regulatory risk, supporting clients across sectors to structure supply chains, manage sanctions and export controls, and respond to shifting trade policy. As part of the collaboration, WBD will also share insights from its Doing Business Guide, a practical resource designed to help overseas businesses understand the legal, commercial and operational considerations of establishing in the UK.

The partnership will launch with a focus on innovation-led and technology businesses, including a joint event for US tech founders in San Francisco in May.

Robie Ramos, Managing Associate at Womble Bond Dickinson, said: “The UK remains a compelling base for globally minded founders—offering access to capital, customers and talent, alongside a trusted legal framework. Through our work with DBT’s Global Entrepreneur Programme, we’ll help US businesses make confident decisions about market entry and growth, from immigration pathways and workforce planning to the contracts and compliance that underpin international expansion.”

Stephen Mooney, a DBT Entrepreneur Program dealmaker, said: “The Global Entrepreneur Programme is designed to help ambitious, internationally mobile entrepreneurs scale from a UK global headquarters. GEP has a number of trusted partnerships and   we are delighted to collaborate with Womble Bond Dickenson.”

Entrepreneurs and businesses supported through the GEP will be able to access WBD’s guidance on establishing operations in the UK, including market-entry considerations and common commercial and regulatory issues covered in the firm’s Doing Business Guide.
