FinTech North Welcomes Brabners as New Partner to Champion Responsible Growth Across the North
We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Brabners, a Northern independent, purpose-led law firm, as we join forces to champion responsible, community-rooted growth across the Northern FinTech ecosystem.
Brabners is an independent, full-service law firm that has been rooted in the North since 1815, with offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Lancashire and around 600 colleagues. The firm advises a broad mix of clients, from large corporates and SMEs to public sector bodies, charities and entrepreneurs, across areas including commercial, corporate, employment, litigation, private client and property law. In 2022 Brabners became the UK’s largest law firm to achieve B Corp certification, and its independent charitable arm, the Brabners Foundation, works with charities across England and Wales. The firm has been recognised in The Legal 500’s Hall of Fame and The Times’ Best Law Firms, and was named Regional Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2025.
This partnership feels like a natural fit for FinTech North. Brabners is a genuinely purpose-driven organisation — its B Corp status and Foundation work reflect a commitment to responsible business that sits at the heart of everything we do at FinTech North. Just as importantly, Brabners is a Northern firm through and through: headquartered in Liverpool with further offices in Manchester, Leeds and Lancashire, the firm has deep roots and an active presence right across our region. That combination of purpose and place makes them a partner we’re proud to welcome into the FinTech North community.
Over the course of the partnership, we’ll be giving Brabners a platform to share what they do best. The team will take to the stage at FinTech North events as speakers, lending their expertise to conversations that matter most to our community. We’ll also be amplifying their thinking through our own channels, helping their perspective reach a wider audience across the North’s FinTech and financial services scene. And beyond the events themselves, Brabners will continue to join us alongside their own clients, bringing even more depth and connection to the rooms we build together.
And we’re already enjoying strong momentum together. Partner Paul Godsmark recently joined us at our Leeds conference to speak on “Smarter Regulation, Stronger Controls: what is shaping risk, regulation and trust in FinTech?” — a session that struck exactly the right chord with our community and set the tone for what’s ahead.
Joe Roche, General Manager, FinTech North:
‘Brabners bring a rare depth of insight, and a real commitment to the communities they work in, so it’s a privilege to have them alongside us. What excites us most is what our community stands to gain from their perspective — whether that’s in the room at one of our events or in the conversations that follow. We can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us.’
